february 2012 and some were working as many as 16 to 20 hours a day. the washington examiner broke this story. >> almost half of those people who were caught on the camera driving while sleeping were working what's called a swing shift is where they work the morning rush and they take a break and they work the afternoon rush and metro has said itself that those swing shifts can mean really long days, up to 16 hours and when the person gets to work to when they get to go home and some of these workers have long commutes. they live in farther out regions. they have to get to a bus garage and start their day. >> we reached out to metro and the spokesman said quote, we reviewed more than 10,000 clip from january 2010 through february 2012 and found that there were 68 instances where the operator may have been fatigued. while one instance is one too many it's important to understand that metro operated more than 9.6 million bus trips during that period. further review indicated that work hours and shift lengths were not factors in the vast majority of the cases. >>> all right. the bigge
